Videos (Check Day Week 1)

Here is the video of me doing 225, 275, 300 (miss, dang 2 1/2 pounders haha). Without any flat bench training this year. Can't wait to see some results with crossfit. Enjoy!

Chest Day Week 1

Also if you would like to find out more information on the trainer spotting me (Devin Lopez) and how to get personal training with him (which I highly recommend) check out this portion of the Crossfit Los Gatos website.

Decmeber 19th 2011

Hey guys today I did my last of the "strength feats." I decided to do some raw flat bench, keep in mind I have not trained flat bench this year in my regular routine so I didn't expect much. I did a single of 225 to warm up then 275 with the help of Mr. Devin Lopez on spot, and finally since 275 was so easy tried 300 which got stuck. So without any training pretty good, but hopefully would like to see my bench back in the low to mid 300's after some training. Thanks for watching, can't wait to get started with crossfit routines on Thursday!

December 17th 2011

Hey guys, so today my goal was to see my deadlifting form. First off I want to say that I am aware when I increase the weight my form goes out the window. I am doing these videos to get better and I know that I am far from perfect. Anyways I did singles today doing sets with 135, 225, 275, 315, 365, 405 with no belt or straps (raw). Then I did a jump to 455 with belt and wraps, unfortunately the camera fell just before I lifted it. Next I thought I had 475 on the bar, but I forgot to put the 25's on. I pulled as hard as I could thinking it was 475 and ripped it up. Finally I do 475 pretty tired, get it up even though it is extremely ugly it was maxing out. Did a few strict pull-up sets and a couple bicep/back exercises. Again I appreciate any and all feedback, thanks. Enjoy!

Videos (Legs Week 1)

Here are a few vids from my first day back at legs (in order they were done). Sorry for them being raw, just didn't have time to edit these. I will try to edit in the future. The links are all to Vimeo because the download rate is much faster. Enjoy!

All done at a bodyweight of 178lbs (empty stomach).

December 15th 2011

Alright here we go. This is my first blog, so obviously I will be learning how to do this along the way. For everyone out there that does not know me my name is Jeff Cook, I am now 24 years old, and am doing this Blog to push/better myself as an athlete.

A quick background/bio of myself would entail a very skinny (128lb) high school runner that as a sophomore in college worked up to 224lbs and then cut to 184lbs to become a fitness model. You can see the transformation at my Bodyspace.

As of now I would like to increase my overall strength while keeping a fairly slim frame. Crossfit has become my path of choice and I will be doing this at Crossfit Los Gatos in Los Gatos, CA. My maxes before at different times have been (without a spotter touching anything and deep squats) a Deadlift of 535, squat of 455 (no belt or straps), and a bench of 335 (off the chest). I am now starting at a very low point after finals week and two weeks of being sick, so I think it is perfect timing. The best way for me to see my progress is through video. I will be posting many vids and always appreciate positive and negative feedback as long as it is a beneficiary to my lifting.

So without further ado here is my first day of doing legs at the gym, not maxing out but going what is heavy for me right now to take a look at my form. Thank you for taking the time to become a part of my journey, I appreciate any advice!
